About Ursula...

I’m an American living in Germany since April 2023. My hobbies include drawing, photography, knitting, and other artistic/crafty things. I read a lot. I am also a huge fan of tennis and the Olympics. I've lived in 4 US states and 4 countries besides the US, but within those places I've also moved more than 25 times. I guess I'm a nomad.

As for postcards, I like architecture, scenery, aerial views ... anything at all. I'm trying to remember to favorite more cards, both ones I receive and ones that I like in general, so you can look there for some inspiration. People sending me cards from within Germany: I'd love to receive cards of Ortsschilder!

The cards don't have to be tourist ones, but that's fine if they are. I would also love to see postcards you've bought on a vacation somewhere. I enjoy art (whether from a museum or quirky/cute art), animals (love all kinds of animals, especially wolves, foxes, bats, dogs (favorite dogs: Australian cattle dogs/blue heelers and corgis), cats, hedgehogs), something to do with books, communist-era posters/propaganda ... seriously, whatever you want to send. This includes handmade! (POSTcards! Not greeting cards.) I love sending people mail art and I'd love to receive some, too!

I don't collect stamps but I love to see different stamps on the cards I receive!

If you need some inspiration for what to write, here are some ideas (this doesn't mean you need to cover ALL of this ....):

Tell me your favorite wild animal, or your dream vacation destination, or a good book you've read, or what your hobbies are. Tell me what you had for breakfast, or what person has inspired you most in your life, orwhat you watched on TV recently. I like it when people write the date and their current weather on their card.

You can also try your hand at drawing a giraffe. I believe everyone can draw to some degree - people who draw "better" just practice more. Bonus points for an interesting setting/activity/outfit! :)

If you're looking for some different postcards to buy, I have some available in the following places:
