I love Snail Mail so when I discovered this website I was extremely happy. I collect a lot of things but postcards and Starbucks gift cards are the main things.
I took Japanese at university. I love Japan. :)
My hobbies include swapping postcards, geocaching, photography, graphic design, scrapbooking, and birding (birdwatching).
I really love postcards with:
-Donkeys, llamas, alpacas, or camels
-Illustrations with animals wearing clothes
-a view from your city with the name of the city on the front of the card (especially night view)
-post boxes, mailboxes, anything to do with mail,
-cats or owls by Oxana Laika
-Cards with whimsical art on them like animals or cute characters.
-Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland
-Postcrossing Meetup cards
-vintage/reproduction travel posters
-roadside attractions. (World's Largest...etc.)
-Lantern Press cards (Blank in an envelope, if possible please)
-Smokey the Bear
-Mascots: Olympics, Expo, Commonwealth Games, FIFA, etc.
-please see my favourites for more ideas :)
I prefer standard size postcards.
I do not like Zazzle cards.
If you can send a postmark with a special cancellation that will be so special for me. :)
All of the cards in my favourites are postcards I do not have so if you have one of them I will really love to receive it. :)
** A Note to Postcrossers from African countries and the USA: Please send the card in an envelope. All my cards from there have arrived damaged unless they are in an envelope.
Postcards from Japan: I love
Gotochi cards (unwritten inside an envelope please)
Totoro or any Ghibli
Geisha (Geiko) or Maiko
Tokyo Station or Central Post Office
I prefer postcards, no folded cards please! :)
I welcome direct swaps so please send me a message if you can send me a card I like and I can send one back to you. :)
If you send my card in an envelope and can put in an (empty) Starbucks gift card from your country with it I will be so so so happy!
I would love to hear from you!
I also design Canadian postcards and many have become favourites on Postcrossing. If you would like to check out my Facebook site. It is here: facebook.com/SailorCalypsoPostcards
