About Steve...

I am a retired university professor and a psychologist. I work with the American Red Cross and do disaster recovery work. I love to meet others around the world. I love sailing and have raced since I was in college. I love movies especially vintage movies. Recently, I have become interested in kite flying and in radio controlled sailing. I have a 4 year old cat that is adorable. I would like to hear from anyone but especially people from Europe.

I love to read mysteries and historical fiction. I just finished The Nightingale and I’m reading The Philosophy of Spinoza. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed the Patrick O’Bryan series featuring Aubrey and Maturin as well as the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I have always been inspired by John F. Kennedy (JFK) and his brother. Their goals for equality and their vision for the future was wonderful and something we need right now. I have JFK stamps that I am using on some of my postcards. Maybe you will get one!

I am not fond or sending or receiving blank cards, with no message on them. I think the message on the cards is as important as the picture on the other side. Please send me unfolded, written postcards without envelopes.

If possible I would love postcards that feature photos of where you live and/or historical photos or pictures. I would also love camping, sailing, cat, old airmail cards, or any cards with pictures of local physical features (I.e., mountains, rivers, lakes, trails). I would also love funny postcards or local recipe cards.

I live in Lawrence, KS, USA. Lawrence has about 80,000 in population and is very close to Kansas City. Lawrence is home to the University of Kansas where I worked for 32 years as a professor before retiring last year. Lawrence is also near the geographic center of the United States in Lebanon, Kansas. We experience all seasons here, summers are hot and winters cold but not too snowy.
