About Steve...

I am a retired university professor and a psychologist. I have worked with the American Red Cross doing disaster recovery work. I love to meet others around the world. I love sailing and have raced since I was in college. I love movies especially vintage movies. I also enjoy camping, playing Pickleball (look it up) and geocaching. In fact, I have some new geocaching stickers that I will sending out. I have a 6 year old tabby cat named Pinecone who is adorable.

I have become interested in kayak sailing. Here is a website to see the kind of sail rig I have on my kayak.

I love to read mysteries and historical fiction. I had been reading O’Henry short stories and I have read and thoroughly enjoyed the Patrick O’Bryan series featuring Aubrey and Maturin as well as the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I also love and have read many books by John Steinbeck. I just finished reading Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Great book! I also enjoy British mysteries like Grantchester. I have just finished Season 1 of The Old Man, The Sinner and Foyle’s War. I am also enjoying This Is Us.

I have a new set of National Parks postcards of the USA that I will be sending out soon. I also have a group of cards from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that I will sending out. I also have a run of Yogi Berra stamps from the United States Postal Service. You’ll have to look him up. I also have some new James Webb telescope stamps, they are beautiful. Maybe you will get one!

I am not fond of sending or receiving blank cards, with no message on them. I think the message on the cards is as important as the picture on the other side. If you would like to send a small trinket, coin, beer coaster, sticker, etc. in an envelope, they are always fun to receive.

If possible I would love postcards that feature photos of where you live and/or historical photos or pictures. I would also love camping, sailing, kayaking, old airmail cards, or any cards with pictures of local physical features (I.e., mountains, rivers, lakes, trails). I would also love funny postcards and unorthodox cards. I would love to get birthday cards in May or June and Christmas cards in November and December. Any card is welcome.

I live in Lawrence, KS, USA. Lawrence has about 94,000 in population and is very close to Kansas City. Lawrence is home to the University of Kansas where I worked for 32 years as a professor and psychologist before retiring. Lawrence is also near the geographic center of the United States in Lebanon, Kansas. We experience all seasons here, summers are hot and winters cold but not too snowy. Here is a video about my city - Lawrence, KS, USA.
