About Sabaai...

Hello from the Land of Smiles.

I'm excited to be joining this wonderful project.

I'm a young-at-heart woman of Lua hill tribe ethnicity living in a small rice farming community in northern Thailand. We are not far from the border with Myanmar (Burma).

I am married to a wonderfully grumpy but always loving husband I call Big Bear. He'll be 70 this year. We have no children. My days are spent caring for our home, participating in activities at our local Buddhist temple, gardening and raising orchids, and of course chatting with other wives in the village.

I welcome most kinds of cards, the more unusual the better. Perhaps a unique view of your town, or an interesting piece of art, or something that might make you say "wow!" if you had received it. Also, you might tell me about your favorite book and why it's special for you. I really like literature of all kinds.

Please reserve cards depicting pets and cartoons along with homemade cards for other recipients who might be more appreciative of them.

I pick up our mail from the provincial post office in Chiang Rai city sixty kilometers south of us twice a week and will register cards immediately. Please use my Thai language address as this will speed delivery. But do let me know if your card seems to have gone astray.

Very best wishes to you all,

Sabaai
