About Rei...

Hi there!

You happened to come across my profile. If you don't know how you got here, I don't know either, but I hope you're doing well.

My name is Angie. I'm 35 and live in the Eastern part of Germany. I'm not new to Postcrossing and know how it works. I had an account a few years ago and used it for a while before I deleted it. It's currently 2020 and I've decided that I want to get back into it.

I like to watch anime. My all-time favourite is Sailor Moon. I used to watch it first in the early 90s when it was aired on children's TV and I hadn't had a clue yet what anime even was. As for music, I'm currently heavily into retrowave/synthwave - I just like those 80s and early 90s sounds because that's when my childhood happened and they hit me with all kinds of nice nostalgic feels. I also like sci-fi and cyberpunk; especially the latter is great - I enjoy seeing the gritty aesthetics of dystopian futuristic cities with their neon lights and advanced technology.

Receiving messages from people is the main reason why I signed up to Postcrossing. It would be nice if you could write a couple of sentences (or more) on the back of your card. If you don't know what to write you can tell me how you're doing, how your day is going, what's currently happening in your life, your favourites, what you last watched/read etc. - these are just some suggestions to give you an idea if you're having a hard time coming up with something to write. You can talk about whatever you like, just be kind and respectful. You could also include a proverb from your native language and give a translation/explanation in English or German.

All postcards are welcome and appreciated, so don't worry about picking the wrong card! :)

For the people who would like to know which motifs I especially like, here's a list for you that you can use as inspiration if you so desire:

-cute/adorable stuff
-funny scenes
-nature (water drops, rain, leaves, forests, landscapes, sunsets, polar lights etc.)
-sloths (they are my favourite animal)
-black & white cards
-artsy stuff (street art/murals, illustrations, paintings etc.)
-Art Nouveau & Art Deco
-women
-lesbian-related cards or general LGBTQ+ cards
-vintage photography & vintage ads/book cover illustrations
-vintage pin-up girls & vintage nudes of women
-old ocean liners (Titanic, Olympic, etc.) & old steamships
-night scenery
-astronomy & space
-neon lights & neon signs
-everything Japanese, South Korean, Chinese (views, sights, people, art, historic buildings, traditional imagery etc.)
-the colour purple
-David Bowie
-Greta Garbo
-Sailor Moon & Studio Ghibli
-self-made postcards
-Halloween in October & Christmas in December

If possible, please don't use an envelope to send the card - if you send a fragile self-made card using an envelope is fine. Please don't send folded greeting cards as these aren't postcards.

I register postcards as soon as I get them.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Stay healthy! :)
