About RainyDay2014...

Hello from the USA!!

Isn't this fun?!? :o)

What do you like? Some of my favorite things are: baking, walking through the trees, road tripping with my husband, pressing pennies in a "penny press" machine found in touristy places, ice-cream!, planting flowers, reading, hearing the neighbors rooster in the morning, looking thru flea markets to find those old Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew books I loved reading as a kid, collecting board game tokens (how many monopoly games are there, anyway!?), "hobby-hopping" as my husband calls my various creative pursuits!! and on and on............

I love all the postcards I've received--being given a glimpse of places I may never see and reading a message from someone in that place is such a treat!! I will truly enjoy any postcard you choose for me, but if you like a list to help you decide here are a few ideas:

-tourist view--extra special if the name of your country is on the front!!
-cards that show words in your language with the english translation
-your hobby or something you enjoy
-farm life: barns, windmills, tractors, fence row, farmers market......
-city life: taxi, bus, people at a traffic light, sidewalk cafe......
-ferris wheels/carnivals/fairs and festivals
-Norman Rockwell
-in or out of an envelope, I don't care, whichever is best for you!!
-anything, just surprise me!!

The writing or doodles on the back brings life to the card, don't you think? your job, school, hobby, family, what you see when you look out your window, your favorite season or month, your first car, where you like to go out to eat, where you buy your postcards, your favorite board game.............anything, just the first thing that pops into your head!

US postcrossers: My husband went to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico as a boy. He has such wonderful memories from the great time he had there! Are there any postcards from there? Any Smokey Bear or boy scout-related postcards would also be awesome!

Thanks for reading my profile and have a great day!!!

*** If you live near one of those penny press machines I mentioned above--I'd love to swap a pressed penny with you along with a postcard! I've been collecting them for years! Just send me a message. ***
