Dear Postcrossing members:
I am a 72-year-old woman living in Colorado and enjoying my retirement years. Never enough hours in a day to do all I'd like to do!
I keep very busy with my many hobbies and interests and with my business selling vintage/collectible postcards and ephemera as well as other collectible items. I have a mini space in a local antique gallery.
I've collected cards since the age of 9. My first vintage card was one I found behind a fireplace wall in an old house we were living in. It was a squeaker cat card and I still have it! I started buying shoeboxes of vintage postcards at auctions when I was 23. I loved just sitting and looking at them and reading some of the messages. I started selling vintage cards in 1996 and have been at it ever since. I also buy collections.
My absolute favorite cards to receive are ones created by you! It could be a collage, watercolor, ink drawing, pencil sketch, or anything you choose to create. I love the thought of you taking the time to create a little work of art just for me! I treasure each one I have received thus far. I also collect vintage hand made and handpainted cards and have over 1000 in my collection. I feel there each person carries their own bit of creativity even though they may not consider themselves to be an "artist".
If you need other ideas for what type of card to send, I like:
• An artist at his/her easel
• Beautiful artist-drawn cards of birds
• Interesting trees
• Something whimsical and fun
• Zebras & giraffes
I also love beautiful, colorful stamps.
I hope your mailbox will always be full!
Stay safe and stay well.
