About Dede...

Dear Postcrossing members:

I am a 74-year-old woman living in Colorado and enjoying my retirement years. I am a long time collector of postcards. I have a specialized collection of vintage cards which I've been acquiring since 1973. I buy collections and also purchase them at postcard shows.

Although I love vintage cards, I also enjoy certain topics on modern cards. However, my absolute favorite cards to receive are original handmade ones that are created by you!! This could be a collage, watercolor, ink drawing, pencil sketch or anything else you chose to create.
I love the thought of you taking the time to create a little work of art just for me! I treasure each one I have received thus far. Even if it is simple doodling, it is still a way of self-expression!

A VERY SPECIAL REQUEST. Please send cards that are 4 x 6 inches or 10 x 15 cm or at least close to that size. The very large cards and folded cards do not fit in my albums.

Other topics I enjoy seeing on cards are:
* Alphabets I just learned about Australia's Fair Dinkum Aussie Alphabet series and would love to get the entire alphabet:
* An artist at his/her easel
* Art cards by one of your favorite local artists - I love being introduced to new artists I am not familiar with!
* Cameras
* Ethnography
* INKOGNITO cards from Germany
* Interesting trees
* Amazing water reflection - like a mirror
* Postcrossing meet-up cards - please send these in an envelope with a note written by you.
* Something whimsical and fun
* Zebras & giraffes (not in zoos, please)
* Smokey the Bear

I also love beautiful, colorful stamps and would love to see Postcrossing stamps from different countries. Actually, it would be wonderful if you send your card in an envelope if it doesn't cost you more to send it this way. Too many of my cards are arriving damaged - creases, tears, bent corners, etc. I'd love to see the envelope decorated with a variety of postage stamps from your country. And a real plus would be to see little illustrations, doodles or some other decoration on the envelope.
Also, if it is possible to have the envelope date stamped, that would be fantastic!! Or, at least write a date on your card. I like to know how long it takes for a card to travel from one place to another.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this far!!

I hope your mailbox will always be full and that each card you receive will bring you joy.

Stay safe and stay well. Share a smile with someone every day
