About Sofia...

HELLO, FELLOW SNAIL MAIL LOVER!

I'm a devoted mail artist who is passionate about stationery, especially sealing wax, stickers, rubber stamps and washi tape! :) I take writing and decorating my cards very seriously :P Postcrossing is one of the best things in my life :)
I enjoy cycling, watching sports, exploring perfumes and the Eurovision Song Contest. My ESC season begins as early as November so I'm basically having fun most of the year! :D

I live in Turku, Finland's oldest city. It's the 6th largest with population of 201.000 and also the former capital and the official Christmas city of Finland. Our archipelago is very beautiful. The meaning of the word turku is "market place". This is a bilingual city so all the street signs are in Swedish, too. Tourists are often confused by it :P

I wanna keep on traveling in the future - so far I've been to AX, EE, GB, GR, LT, LV, PL, PT, RU, SE, US and I've also lived in AU for 3+ years. My fiancé made me a globetrotter :) After almost 10 years we still aren't living in the same country! x)

How to pronounce the Finnish letter Ä? Think of it as the letter A in the word "mad". Say it out loud, try it :)
And how about the letter Ö? Kinda like the letter O in the word "world". It's a "mad world" we live in :P

I love cards with these themes:
- mailboxes (kinda collect them)
- birds/snails that are carrying mail
- anything related to mail or stationery :D
- Postcrossing (meet-ups etc.)
- lynxes (my fave animal for 25 years)
- red poppies, especially poppy fields
- watercolor paintings
- the color lilac (my fave since forever)
- bicycles!
- I<3... (the name of your city)
- Greetings from... (the name of your city)
- city views with the name of your city on it
- homemade cards from food packaging that is typical for your country :P

Also postage stamps with these themes are welcome! If you have a Postcrossing stamp, do use it! Washi tape, stickers etc. also make me smile :) Handmade, oversized, folded, ad or envelope - it's all good! Real photo or illustration, doesn't matter! Xmas/New Year, Easter/spring & birthday cards would be cool! I love receiving good wishes for the new year, for my birthday and for the spring :)

My favorited cards are ones I like but don't have yet.

THANK YOU!!
