About Susan...

Hi!

I am very happy to have joined this community and I look forward to meeting you. When I was a little girl, I dreamt of becoming a professional world traveller and I remember being extremely upset when I found out that wasn't a real profession. I studied the next best thing (history!) to broaden my world. I hope for many encouters with you and your country and I'd be very happy to direct swap or penpal. Just leave me a message :) There are a lot of Dutch postcrossers, but may be I have sent a card you like(d) Through Postcrossing, I met a wonderful friend - Liulu. I hope I can meet many more :)

Every card will be gratefully received, but please, please, please try to stay away from ad-cards (because I buy all my cards).
I also do not particularly care for cards with pets (allergic), touchnote (no privacy), anything Disney, too touristy (greetings from), art or fairytale/fairies and multiview.

Just to give some idea's, I love:
* Olympic Games- related
* Festivals
* lampoons/floating lanterns/ Kongming lantern/khom loi
I don't know if there exists a card like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_lantern, but I'd love to see this :)
* Everyday life
* Orca's
* Turtles/tortoises
* Anything Welsh (Cymru am byth)
* Landscapes/nature/sea
* UNESCO World Heritage Sites
* Astronomical phenomena/night skies
* Puffins
* U.S/Canadian NPs/state parks/nature parks
* Single view
* History-related

The above-mentioned suggestions are not demands! Some of my favourite cards include those, which didn't occur on my 'wishlist' previously. I will be glad with whatever you decide to send me

However, I am very curious, so I'd like to know a bit about you :) Please share with me something you think is worth knowing about your country, your country's history, your (everyday) life, your hobbies, favourite literature, favourite travel destinations etc. You could also tell me your favourite word in your native language, or your favourite quote.

French Postcrossers, I would really love it if you wrote your card in French. I spent six years in high school learning this language, but regretfully, I haven't been able to keep up with it. Please help me to reinvigorate my French.

Roeddwn i'n byw yn Abertawe am chwe mis ac yr wyf wrth fy modd yno. Os gwelwch yn dda dysg i mi rhywfaint o Gymraeg.

Happy Postcrossing and thank you
