I'm Chris and I live with my family and 14 cats in Florence, Arizona, which is about an hour southeast of the city of Phoenix.
We moved to Arizona in early 2021, after many years in Pennsylvania. I am still exploring the southwestern US, which is new to me. But I miss Pennsylvania autumns, small towns, rolling hills, woodlands, cornfields and snowfall.
I collect books, postcards, old pictures, and other kinds of ephemera and write about them on my blog, Papergreat. My have a special interest in fairy tales and folklore. Ruth Manning-Sanders is my favorite fairy tale author.
I watch a lot of movies. I like international cinema, especially from Japan, of the mid 20th century and American films or documentaries that were filmed during or are set in the 1970s.
I put artsy photos, mostly pictures of our cats, on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisottopa/
I hope we can create for future generations a world filled with peace, acceptance, equality and freedom. A world in which we trust and listen to science and health experts. A world that embraces *everyone*. A world in which no one is hungry or homeless. And a world in which we treat animals with as much compassion as we should be treating each other. We must also be more protective of this amazing but fragile planet. We have much work to do. I try to stay positive.
Please send whatever postcard makes you happy. Every card in my mailbox brings a smile.
