About Raija...

Hello everyone! This is the easiest to get to know places far away.
I live in Pieksämäki, small town in central Finland. The town is best known as a railway junction. Local Summer festival Big Wheels has grown to one of the biggest open-air automotive round-ups in Finland.
I'm in my 60'ies and still working but will retire in November 2018. My cat's name is Mirri and I like very much that ginger big cat (just like Garfield, Karvinen suomeksi ).
I enjoy history and genealogy and I can spend hours at my computer studying old newspapers, Family Search website, historical sites. And I like reading historical books. I love the nature and like to leave something good for the children of today. Let's preserve the nature for them! My newest interest is fixing old furniture. I'm on a course where we give new life to chairs, sofas, tables, etc. Old furniture have a history, and their story goes on.
My favourite TV programmes are: British drama, as well as Swedish and Danish drama, nature documentaries, historical documentaries, sports, news.
Sports that I enjoy watching are: x-country sking, football, ice hockey, biathlon, track and field (javelin, running).
I like to travel and occationally make few days' trips to somewhere in Europe.
You can send me any kind of postcards, but I'd love to receive cards that show pictures of the places you live.
And, please include date on the card.
I normally print the address for the postcards I send, just to make it easier for the postal people to deliver the card to you.

NO POSTCARD ID:
This is where I will put info if I receive postcards without the ID number.
