Hi there! We are a group of 7 Belarusian grannies, who think that a brand new life starts after you've retired and that's why we decided to start learning English! We are: Ludmila, Tamara, Svetlana, Olga, Elena, Mila and Toma. With the help of our teacher Varvara we already can speak some English, have created (and even performed on local TV!) a rap song, watch movies in English with subtitles, sing, play games, learn about the cultures of different countries all over the world, and simply have fun together!
Our biggest dream is to visit an English-speaking country together:)
We thought that it would be a great idea to join Postcrossing and be able not only practice our English, but also get to know lots of amazing people from around the world!
We will be happy about any postcard, just share with us who you are, what you do, what makes you happy, what's your biggest dream or anything you feel like writing:)

Now in times of COVID-19 we meet only via Zoom, but all your beautiful cards are received, registered, scanned and carefully stored by our teacher Varvara. She shares the scans with us during the lessons, so we can enjoy both the image and your message! Your cards are a wonderful distraction from everything that is happening in Belarus and the world right now, so we are truly grateful to all of you for making us smile! We wish everyone to stay healthy and positive, take good care of yourselves until we beat this nasty virus! 😷

If you are not sure, what to send us, here are some things we would be especially happy about:

- traditional costumes, rituals, celebrations

Please kindly avoid such topics as war, violence, nudity, anime and cartoons. Thank you for understanding.

Please write in BLOCK LETTERS, as some of us don't see so well and sometimes it's pretty challenging to read your messages, which upsets us a lot, as we are so eager to learn something about you and your postcards!
