About Jennifer...

Hi. My name is Jennifer. I am in my 30's and live in Michigan. I have always enjoyed receiving postcards and thought this would be a great way to learn about other countries and cultures. How do you say "hello" in your part of the world?

I love art, nature, animals, music, and spending time with my family.

I'm most interested in postcards that will tell me something about where you live. For example, do you live near a beautiful waterfall, castle, important landmark? What does the landscape look like where you live? Are there mountains, deserts, fields? Do you want to share something important or interesting about your culture? If not, then any type of postcard will be appreciated. :-)

Are there any Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts out there? I was a Girl Scout, my mom used to be a Girl Scout leader, and my son was a Boy Scout.

If you are going to be on vacation or for some reason you will be unable to register postcards please set your account to "inactive". No one likes to send postcards and have them expire. I've also sent a few to people who have apparently given up on postcrossing and didn't deactivate their account. :-(

If you are interested in learning more about Michigan there are a couple good websites that I recommend.
Michigan.org (puremichigan.com) is Michigan's tourism website. It has a lot of pictures and information. I use it when I plan family vacations and day-trips.
The other is utrmichigan.com. It is the website for the tv show "Under the Radar Michigan". The host visits interesting locations in Michigan and uses humor to interview locals and business owners.

Michigan Fun Fact: You have a map of Michigan on your body and I bet you didn't even know it. :-) Hold up your right hand, fingers together, palm facing you. Now you have a map of Michigan's lower peninsula. The upper peninsula resembles a cloud floating above the lower peninsula. The two peninsulas are connected by the Mackinac Bridge. When you want to tell someone where you are, have been, or want to be in the lower peninsula just hold up your hand and point. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is at the tip of your pinkie. Mackinaw City is at the tip of your middle finger.

By the way, my profile picture is one that I took near my home. It is of the Flint River in autumn.
