About Denice...

****ATTENTION!!! Please write the Postcrossing ID in the CENTER of the postcard! If you put it on the top or bottom, it often gets destroyed in the mail and I can't read it. Thank you!*****

I LOVE postcards from around the world! I hang ALL of the postcards I receive above my desk and around my study, where I write all of my Postcrossing cards.

After a decade of living in various parts of the world, I am now back in the US and in graduate school studying for my Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and teaching Academic English to international students. I won't be able to go back overseas for a while, so I look forward to receiving your postcards!

I PREFER postcards with:

*traditional icons from your country (national costumes/masks/dances/festivals/food- no animals/plants)
*a charming village or street scene
*map postcards (especially with cultural pictures or cartoons for each region)
*cultural/historical places
*cards that feature the name of the place and local greetings (in local language)
*cards that have names of things in your language or if there is a special alphabet
*Doors of (place) theme
*Vintage/Kitschy themes
*Vintage cards from Soviet/Communism years
*city skylines
*sunset or night time views

I prefer NOT to receive:
*ad cards
*self-made cards
*flowers (unless it falls under preferred requests)
*animals (unless it falls under preferred requests)
*art/paintings

*****POSTCARDS FROM NETHERLANDS/FINLAND/GERMANY/RUSSIA: Please Note:
The majority of postcards I receive are from your countries... if you happen to have any extra postcards from nearby countries or from places you have traveled, you can send me those!
*Friends from Netherlands-- cards with bikes on them
*Friends from Finland-- traditional dress or Moomin cards
*Friends from Germany-- if you have any vintage cards from pre-unification, especially East German, I would love those, too!
*Friends from Russia-- if you have any cards from the USSR (CCCP), the Basilica/Red Square, or the interesting metro stations, I would love those!

In other words, I really hope to get a card from a place/country that I can tell it's from where you are sending it. Please see my favorites for ideas :) http://www.postcrossing.com/user/notanothertourist/gallery/favourites

Please write how to say the greetings in the/your local language, too! And please write the date and use clear handwriting so I can understand what you write <3

Thanks so much! I can't wait to see what you send me!

**I am interested in swaps, too.**
