About Nicole...
Dear fellow postcrosser,
I'm Nicole (37) from the Netherlands. I live in Leiden, a university town in the west of the country.
From an early age I devoured every book that I could get my hands on, with a preference for historical fiction. I worked as a journalist for five years, writing book reviews and interviewing authors. Now I mainly read for pleasure. If you happen to be a bibliophile as well, you can keep track of my reading at www.goodreads.com/nicolevde I still love to read and write, but I'm currently working in higher education.
Another great passion is music. I grew up in the late-nineties and was infected by the boyband bug! I followed Westlife from the very start and still visit their concerts all across Europe. I cherish those amazing memories and the friends I've made along the way.
I'm a true Anglophile as well! I love to pop over for a few days and enjoy British culture. I was fortunate enough to spend a year abroad in Ireland, Galway more specifically. I fell even more in love with the country and its amazing, friendly people! In recent years I have traveled to Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Peru, among other things, to practice my Spanish.
So, don't hesitate to write about your favourite books/authors or what you're reading at the moment. Do you have a favourite quote, author or character? If you're not into reading, is there anything interesting in your area that is worth visiting? Tell me more about it!
Some suggestions for cards that I will like:
• Books: bookstores, libraries, bookcases, covers of books, famous authors, quotes from novels: in short, everything book related.
• Jane Austen or anything that is related to her writing.
• Old maps, it doesn't have to be from your area, but I have a thing for anything that comes from an atlas.
• Anything English or Irish. Famous landmarks, typical English food, London, The Beatles, James Joyce etc.
• Flamingos
• Underground/Tube maps
Todavía tengo clases de español, así que disfruto recibir postales en español.
