Hi fellow postcrossers!
My name is Lena and at the moment I'm living in a town just outside Moscow but hope to get into mortgage slavery and move to Moscow very soonish :)
I have a Master's degree in philology. I do love books and philosophy but music is my everything. Or, to be more precise, metal and neofolk are my everything :) I don't really go out much unless there's a band playing somewhere in Moscow/St.Petersburg (or some other country! Usually, I travel abroad a few times a year to see my favourite bands). Unsurprisingly, I have a soft spot for Northern culture (and maybe Celtic as well, but I know too little about it).
When we have time, my friends and I go on day trips to explore interesting places in Moscow region or neighbouring areas. So far, we've been to a ghost militant town, an alpaca farm, a village movie set,
and a handful of manor houses (both abandoned and restored). Once a year we do a trip around historical Russian cities in Central Russia.
But when I'm on my own, I'm a failure of a tourist. I don't really know what to do when I come to a new city, so I've given up trying visiting to new places alone. I probably need a narrative of some sort or someone to keep me company otherwise I'm completely lost -- both, metaphorically and physically. Nature speaks to me instantaneously, though. I thoroughly enjoy hikes and I've also hitchhiked around Iceland twice. Hopefully, I'll be able to revisit Iceland a hundred more times and, when I have the money, I'll definitely go to the Faeroe islands.
In my free time I play video games with my friends. Our favourite game is Dead by Daylight which features killers from iconic horror films, such as Halloween, Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street etc. I also enjoy drawing and crafting stuff and I take regular walks to the forest to feed squirrels. I'm fond of fine arts and like preraphaelites, Alfons Mucha, Dürer, Vermeer, Bruegel, Klimt, Beksinski and the likes.
I don't have any preferences regarding the theme or the message. I'll be happy to receive any card you feel like sending :) If you happen to be into folk music (anything from traditional to dark folk and ambient), please recommend me something! Or maybe you can recommend me a movie. A few words in your native language would be cool.
