About Lena...

Hi fellow postcrossers!

I'm originally from Russia but the war made me come to a conclusion that it's no longer possible to live in the country where I was born. So, after fruitless anti-war protests and quite unpleasant encounters with the police, I - just like many of my friends - have decided to move to a different country. Now I'm studying at a Finnish college in Turku in the Swedish language (I'm very lucky I studied it at university and it's Finland's second official language) and trying to find my feet in a completely new place.

I'm a great metal fan (tbh, it's one of the main reasons why I chose Finland as my new home :D) and I'm into hiking. Luckily, there's no shortage of either black metal or beautiful scenery here.

My friends and I used to explore interesting places around Moscow varying from alpacas farm to abandoned military towns and horror dolls museum. We also played a lot of video games (mainly Dead by Daylight) and Lovecraft inspired board games and were basically inseparable. Before parting, each of us put on a pendant of a jigsaw puzzle piece which reads "we will always be connected" (A reference to both our love for video games and jigsaw puzzles). I miss my friends dearly and hope we'll manage to stay in touch. But most of all, I wish for everyone to enjoy peace and freedom.

Light shall overcome darkness ☮
