About Eric...

In daily work life I am an engineer working in a high-tech environment, where the rule is: the more we can automate and do the "e-way", the better it is...
All fine, but perhaps to have a contrast with that, I really like the good traditional exchange of postcards via mail.

I am generally interested in other cultures so if you send me a postcard of any kind, please put some info on it on your city, village, region, habits, history, food/drinks and especially some words in your own language. In case you are Dutch-speaking: some words in your dialect would be nice.

Since I am currently following evening classes in Arabic and Hungarian, while having followed classes in Italian and Hindi before, I am particularly interested in those languages and the associated cultures and countries. However in the first place, it would be great to receive cards that are associated with your own region and culture and maybe a bit original, so if possible not the standard tourist card. Serious, fun, or serious fun, all OK.

And o yeah, some interest in philosophy and music as well...

Therefore some themes, just suggestions:
- Anything really "local" to you
- Languages and linguistics in general
- Arabia and Arabic, tajine wa shai binana: mint tea
- India, Pakistan and Hindi/Urdu, chicken dopiaza aur chai
- Hungary and Hugarian, gulyás, magyar bor, Unicum és baracspálinka
- Italy and Italian, tutte le paste e vino italiano
- Fayruz, Xaris Alexiou, Misia, Zucchero, Alice, Irene Grandi, Indochine, Air, Die Toten Hosen, Bollywood, Tori Amos
- Dust busters, follies, fungus cheese, Z80/M68k, yuccas
- Gödel, Escher, Bach, Penrose, Sheldrake
- Morphic fields, Hilbert spaces, quantum rabbits

For the rest: of course any positive card appreciated and feel free, be creative :-)
