Information for volunteers:
I would like to ask you to send a card for a person I know through my close friend who’s day can become significantly brighter by receiving a card from you. Her name is Tania, she is a young woman, living in a nursing home for people with psycho-neurological disabilities in Minsk. She has a cerebral paralysis since childhood. Her ability to move and take care of herself is very limited. She moves around with a help of a wheelchair. Tania has a family and parents, who choose not inconvenient themselves by taking care of Tania; they don’t visit her and don’t take her home for the holidays. Every day, including holidays, Tania is surrounded by nurses and patients of the nursing home, many of whom are mentally disabled. Occasionally she has visits from a local priest and a few of her friends. To be able to leave the walls of the building even for a short time, her friends need to fill a lot of paperwork, which takes a long time to turn around. So most of the time Tania stays within the constraints of the building, which fills a lot like imprisonment. You can help her by writing to her, sending her good wishes, telling about yourself, your country and showing, through your postcard, a place in the world where you live. Just saying hi and wishing her a nice day would be wonderful. Tania's address:
