Hi! I live right in the heart of Vancouver with all the hustle and bustle but very close to a salt water inlet called False Creek. If you've ever visited Vancouver (I'm amazed at how many Postcrossers have!) you might have been to Granville Island, which is not far from my home.
I'm retired, and a widow. Before the pandemic I was able to do a lot of travelling, mostly long road trips in the U.S. and one or two annual trips to Europe.
My Mum is English (I was born there) and is now 97 years old and my best friend.
My Dad was Finnish; I'm sorry to say I don't speak any Finnish and have not visited Finland. Since I took a DNA test on MyHeritage it seems I must be related to half the country, ha ha.
As well as lots of travel, some of my favourite pastimes are:
drinking too many cups of tea
reading mysteries, preferably ones set in other countries, Nordic and English are favourites
smiling at dogs, they usually wag and 'smile' back
I do smile at people, too ;-)
visiting botanical gardens, galleries, and museums
watching wild birds
taking long walks on our seawall and in parks
seeing movies in the cinema on a big screen
indulging my love of chocolate
I love cute illustrations and random surprise cards! I just like so many different things I've given up on a list. Christmas and other holiday cards are welcome. 😊
PLEASE, don't send me cards using a computer service. I really don't want my name and address used this way.
A personal message about anything... weather, pets, likes, dislikes, will be very appreciated.
Thank you very much for reading my profile. I feel lucky to have found Postcrossing! ❤️ Even though I've received many cards I value each and every one.
