About Katri...

Hi! I live right in the heart of Vancouver with all the hustle and bustle but very close to a salt water inlet. I'm retired, and a widow.

I've recently changed my avatar to a photo taken in March, 2018, in Menton, France. I was really happy to be in beautiful Menton and to find racks of great postcards!

My Mum is English (I was born there) and is now 94 years old and my best friend. My Dad was Finnish from Karelia; I'm sorry to say I don't speak any Finnish.

As well as travel, some of my favourite pastimes are:

drinking too many cups of tea
reading mysteries, preferably ones set in other countries, Nordic and English are favourites
smiling at dogs, they usually wag and 'smile' back
I do smile at people, too ;-)
visiting botanical gardens, galleries, and museums
watching wild birds
taking long walks on our seawall

PLEASE, NO Postix, Touchnote, or any other computer or third party generated cards.

As a favour, I'd appreciate it if you could save your tourist cards of modern cities and buildings for people who collect them. But if that's all that's available to you, of course I'll be very happy to receive them.

I love cute illustrations and random surprise cards! If you'd like suggestions, in no particular order, the items listed below are just a few of the things I enjoy.

travel posters
fantasy, mythology, folk tales, fairytales
cards with lots of pink or other warm colours
Inkognito - I really enjoy Gerhard Gluck's cards
art
angels
florals
whimsical
happy people
meteors, planets, space, the moon
archaeological items

If you could...write a message. It's lovely to learn something about the person sending the card. Also the date so I can see the real travel time.

Cheers, and a big thank you for reading my profile. I often reread the cards I have received, and feel so lucky to have found Postcrossing!
