Hi! My name is David. I have been collecting stamps and getting excited about other places since I was a little boy. As a history teacher, I really enjoy savoring the connection between different people and places and the surprise of unexpected mail.
If you look at my map (see the link), I am trying to keep track of all places my stamps in my collection have been postmarked and Postcrossing has helped this map to grow, one person and story at a time.
I also like using Google Maps to see where people live and Wikipedia to read about the places they are from. What else? I used to be a tour guide in New York, specializing in cultural and ethnic history and I am the father of a wonderful baby girl, now 15 months old!
If you're not sure what to send and would like a suggestion: I like things that have a connection to where you live, if possible. An ad-card is fine with me.
Some possible things you might choose to write about...
Teach me or share something interesting I would see if I was visiting where you live.
If I was visiting your city or town, what sights would you show me?
What should my students know about your country (city, town) and its culture?
How did you or your family come to live in the place you live in now? Are they immigrants or migrants?
P.S: If you are concerned the postcard you sent did not arrive in a reasonable time, please contact me. I will make sure to register it, despite it being misplaced.
