My name is Mirjam and I live in the Zaanstreek, my birthplace. The Zaanstreek is a region in the Netherlands and one of the oldest industrial areas in Europe. It lies in the province of North Holland and Amsterdam is one of our neighbors. I live in a terraced house together with my husband and two children. A small garden behind our house is the domain of our 6 rabbits.

What I like to do, and also really need, is to be creative. Without it, I am really a boring person. (even a little irritating ;0)

Water is what I love, whether it's the sea or a lake, water makes me feel good. I especially love the water in the Ardennes, Belgium. So rippling water, and after a night of rain suddenly a fiercely flowing stream. The Ardennes is my favorite vacation spot. The peace and quiet, the trees and the water, they call to me every time. Enough silence, tranquility and time to dream away.

Speaking of dreams, I would like to learn to make ceramics. Not bowls etc. but figurines or jewelry. A somewhat bigger dream is to own my own studio where I can express my creativity without the pressure of having to. Lots of light, glass and old stuff. Window open, rippling water ....
