About Megan...

Hi! I'm Megan, a 37 year old woman working in finance and also an artist, in New York City. I sell my art on postcards at https://mnjohn.com. If you're in the US, you might have seen my face in a Postcrossing ad!

Let's stay in touch! My Instagram is @mnjohncards.

Here's what I like best to receive, though I love every and any card as long as it is written with your heart:

1. Jokes! On the front or written by you in your message. Funny cartoons of all kinds! I'm not easily offended.

2. Write me the story of how you met your spouse / partner. Did you like each other right away or did it take time? When did you know you'd be together?

I have a collection of cards where postcrossers have taken the time to write me their story and it is so very precious to me. So many stories, each of them is unique.

3. POTATOES! :) We love potatoes. If you have a potato card, please send it to me! Or tell me how you like your potatoes. Or if you don't like potatoes. Or tell me your special potato story. Everyone has one, right?

4. I love meetup cards, World Postcard Day cards in October and pictures of skeletons all year round. I like first day of issue and maxicards, and collect USA FDOI and pictorial postmark maxicards. I like to swap these privately! Here's how I make them: https://mnjohn.com/blogs/latest-news/how-to-get-maxicards-in-the-usa

5. Just write to me about yourself. What topic do you care a lot about right now? I care about the message more than the card itself. I have no opinion on what a "real" postcard is and will love it all.

6. I love cats! Weirder the better. I have a special album just for funny and bizarre cat cards people have sent me.

7. I love trains! If you like trains too, tell me the craziest thing that ever happened to you on a train!

Have you considered supporting independent artists and local shops when buying cards for postcrossing? Here are some I'd love to share:

Raspberry Paper - adorable designs by a friend from the carding community! https://raspberrypaper.com/
Alaive Postcards - Surprise packs of cards in themes good for postcrossing - https://alaivepostcards.com
Artful Geet Creations - a super talented artist I really like - https://www.etsy.com/shop/ArtfulGeetCreations (I LOVE her work and would love you to send me one of her cards)
and of course my own site https://mnjohn.com

Tell me your favorite small postcard shops or send me a card from one!

If you can't get enough Postcrossing, have you met the fantastic postcard swapping groups on Facebook, Instagram, Swap-Bot and Reddit (r/RandomActsofCards)? These are wonderful places to make new friends and swap even more cards! Also check out the Postcrossing forum!
