Hello, dear postcrosser!
My name is Olga, I’m 25 years old. I live in Vladimir - one of the oldest towns of central Russia. Here we have churches, cathedrals, monasteries, churches, more churches… Well, our ancestors liked to build some :) If you are a UNESCO WHS-addicted person maybe you have already seen following structures:
They are here.
Okay. Now you know where I’m from. So what about me? I’m an employment girl, not married, boyfriended, have one cat and one plant. Like to read and to ride a car, to explore my country and my hometown. My quiet evenings I prefer to spend watching old films with a cup of black tea with dried cranberries. However I don’t have a lot of those evenings…When it’s football time I’m almost afraid to stay without a big company and a good beer :) My favorite actors are Adriano Celentano and Louis de Funès. Favorite book is “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” by Mark Twain.
I would like to receive postcards with:
- big cats (lions, tigers, lynxes, etc.);
- winter sceneries (yep, more snow to Russia!);
- Inge Löök's old ladies;
- Bernard Kliban's cats;
- oriental dragons.
By countries (if you’re from one of the following countries and have such a postcard, please, send it – be sure I really miss this postcard :) ):
AUSTRALIA: the Sydney Opera House, endemic animals (kangaroo, koala, etc.)
CANADA: RCMP, Ottawa
CHINA: the Gate of Heavenly Peace (the Tiananmen), the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Army, Beijing opera, Chinese martial arts
DENMARK: the statue of the Little Mermaid
FRANCE: the Eiffel Tower
GERMANY: the Brandenburg Gate, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Reichstag building
NETHERLANDS: windmills at Kinderdijk, Amsterdam, “Girl With a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer
UK: the Westminster Abbey, the Buckingham Palace, the Tower Bridge
UKRAINE: the Golden Gates of Kiev / Золоті ворота (Київ)
USA: the Washington Monument, the United States Capitol, the White House
But this is just a wishlist and nothing more. I think sendmeonly-tones ruin a wonderful idea of postcrossing. So ANY postcard is very welcome! Also please write on the back of your postcard a few words about yourself and your favorite things on our planet :) (books, songs, places and so on).
One last and very-very-very insolent thing. I don’t mind envelopes. But if you’re going to use an envelope I have a small request to ask of you. In case you have an old useless deck of playing cards could you possibly put the Queen of Clubs (Clovers) into an envelope with your postcard? Of course, it’s not necessary at all, but there will always be a thank-you postcard in return.
