About Mathixi...

Good day dear fellows!

My name is Christine, I'm 28 years old. After two semesters of biology and chemistry I changed my subjects and I'm currently studying German literature and Orientalism. Before I went to university, I became an antiquarian bookseller and I'm working as one since then. By now, you probably sensed it: my interests are multifarious :)
I love reading, mostly modern German (also Austrian and Swiss) classics, such as Böll, Kästner, Dürrenmatt, Frisch, Thomas Bernhard, Canetti, Horvath. I also enjoy reading the "real" classics, such as Schiller, Lessing or Goethe - although Goethe's characters often show a kind of narcissism that'll knock your socks off. Well, that doesn't necessarily concern only Goethe, I have to admit that. And then there's also "Catcher in the Rye", written by Salinger, and I find it to be one of the most compelling books I've ever read.
I'm also very fond of good movies. There are those old movies, for example those with Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple, which I really love. And those with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. These two old chaps had their hearts at the right place, of that I'm sure. Walter Matthau also played a marvellous character in "The Grass Harp", a movie based on Truman Capote's wonderful homonymous novel. I recently watched "Welcome to the Dollhouse" and I have to admit - I really loved it. I'm a secret admirer of coming-of-age movies.
Well and then there's the music... to make it short: I have always trouble to describe what kind of music I like, when asked. Because there's so much music I like. But I guess it's safe to say, that most of it is rock music from the 50s to the 70s. Cohen and Waits are also two of my favourite musicians, but I'm not totally against happy music either :)

Okay, I think that should be more than enough! To everybody who made it through the entire text:

I'm so very curious and excited about any postcard that may find its way from you to my humble home! For me it's not about collecting stamps, postcards or autographs or whatever might come to mind - for me it's about communication and sharing nice and interesting thoughts! So really ANY postcard is very welcome

Best wishes and cheers!
