I was born in Chicago and moved to Southern California in my mid-20s. I lived there for 40 years but moved to Colorado when I retired. Now I live in Pueblo in Southern Colorado with an African Grey parrot named Nickel and a Mexican Red-Headed Amazon named Rosie who I adopted last summer from the parrot rescue/sanctuary group I was working for then.

I love to travel & meet people from other cultures. I've been to Italy and Mexico, as well as many states in the U.S.A.. I would dearly love to travel more, but right now I can't, so sending & receiving postcards from all over the world through PostCrossing is the next best thing.

Other things I enjoy are reading, writing, photography (my avatar is a photo I took when visiting the Denver Butterfly Pavilion in 2010), gardening. Favorite books are scifi, fantasy, mystery, steampunk, historical fiction, history and some romance. Joss Whedon's "Firefly" is my favorite television show (though it was canceled after only one season). "The Martian" was a really great book, and I really enjoyed the film adaptation of it. I also love all three of the Lord of The Rings films (Extended Versions).

I'll love to receive postcards showing where you live, have lived, or have traveled to ~ especially images of interesting architecture, street scenes, landscapes, gardens, people, etc., and to hear a little about you and your life! Thanks!
