About Martyn...

Martyn, 30, Christian, Secondary English, Media and Film Teacher, Ukulele Player, Cinephile, Geocacher.

I'm a secondary school English, Film and Media teacher with a love of both books and film. I love film (or a half-decent series) and can happily spend my days with anything from documentary to a cinematic classic, an animation to a psychological thriller. My go-to for evening watching is usually a true crime series - something a little gritty - or something containing zombie (I have a bit of an obsession). As much as I should read, being an English teacher and all, I don't read anywhere near as much as I should. When I do, it's at a leisurely pace and is composed of purely Stephen King novels. Aside from the indoorsy stuff, I'm an avid Geocacher! I'll take any excuse to get out into nature and off on a geocaching trail; woods, mountains, beach, you name it - I'm game. I'm pretty hooked on sharing Postcrossing and Geocaching life on Instagram too (@highs_and_lowes)

When it comes to postcards - I have no real preferences and would be delighted with anything you send my way. If you're reading this for inspiration and sincerely want some pointers then hopefully the below will help:
- Film (Classic, vintage posters, animation, thrillers, comedy - You name it!)
- Books (I'm a big Stephen King fan)
- Cartoons
- Geometric patterns
- Local postcards from your country
- Photography (Black and white)
- Handmade postcards

If you're wondering what to write - How about telling me your favourite film or book? Or feel free to test my knowledge by adding a quote from yours and I'll see if I can guess it?

Postcards come in all shapes and sizes, so if it needs an envelope - feel free! Are you addicted to stickers and washi tape too? Feel free to decorate, doodle, stick, sketch or scribble.

I've recently started penpalling when I have the time too - If you'd like to send or exchange letters, do let me know and, if I have the time, I'd be happy to write to you!
