Hi there, fellow postcrosser!

My name is Marit! I'm 29 years old, and I work as an optometrist. I actually just started working in this field. Over the course of my life, I thought I wanted to be an engineer, then a geographer... then my mental health forced me to step back, and start down a new path to happiness. That path led me to start a new university degree at the age of 25, and to a profession where I can positively impact the lives of other people every single day, and I never look back with regret.
It also lead me to a new city! I moved to Steinkjer, Norway in June 2022 to start my new job. It's a small city surrounded by farmland, about 2 hours north from Trondheim. It's not at all where I thought I would find myself approaching 30, but I'm happy here. There are good opportunities for hikes and nature walks, including one that leads to a vantage point with what is claimed to be the world's largest garden chair.
I love learning about the world and I'm a bit of a flag nerd. At home I enjoy watching TV shows, knitting, crocheting and cooking vegetarian meals. Cooking is best when I get to serve the end result to friends and/or family.

I keep some of my received cards on the wall over my bed, and I'm really looking forward to receiving a card from you and hearing from you. You can send and write whatever you like, but if you are completely out of ideas, I would love for you to tell me something that you like about yourself, something about yourself that you are proud of. I think we could all benefit from putting some positivity and self love down on paper once in a while, don't you think?
