About Mark...
Hello! I am excited to get back into swapping postcards after many years away from Postcrossing.
I recently moved from Saskatchewan, Canada to Victoria BC, one of Canada's most beautiful cities. I love it here, but I miss travelling so much. After living my whole live on the prairies, it's wonderful to be able to walk to the ocean or the harbour or take a short drive to mountains and forests.
I am in my third career as an adult; I started in the corporate world in technology, sales, marketing, etc before opening a craft bread bakery in 2011. Now I make a podcast for bakers and bakery owners called Rise Up! and I built a community for bakers and bakery owners called Bakers4Bakers. I also help leaders and creative people tell better stories and make a positive change in the world.
I love food, but I'm not a 'foodie'. I prefer simple things made well. Although I have a soft spot for fancy French patisseries! :)
And I love travel and the diversity of us humans from all around the globe. That's the appeal of Postcrossing to me - we get to share a tiny piece of ourselves from all around the world. We can talk about what's important to us and celebrate what is 'ordinary' to us but is fascinating to others.
I am a stamp collector too - tiny mementos from around the world and through time - so get a special thrill when receiving mail with actual stamps.
I will love any and all postcards without fail. I get an extra big smile when I learn a little about the person sending the card, from the card subject, or a note, or both.
I am convinced that even though we come from different places and different cultures, that we have much in common. I am so grateful that Postcrossing exists to bring us closer together.
