Greetings from The Sunshine State!

In my professional life, I am the Quality Assurance Manager for a training and simulation company that specializes in large-scale, custom-designed training solutions primarily for the Department of Defense. In a nutshell, I'm a professional nerd and nit-picker.

The loves of my life are my Saint Bernard Fig (2.5), my cat Murphy (14), and my husband, Bill (I'm not telling you how old he is). We hope to one day take Fig to Switzerland so she can see where 'her kind' comes from.

I think there is nothing more elegant than a handwritten letter and nothing more special than knowing that someone spent their precious time to write it. After all, we only have a limited amount of time here on Earth, and how lovely is it to think that someone spent some of that time on you?

I love stationery, pens (especially fountain pens), and office supplies with a passion that is inhuman. I have a healthy obsession with orange: the color, the flavor, the scent, all of it. I'm a shoe "collector" and have yet to find a 12-step program for that. I also collect gnomes---I have over 25---but I have never purchased one; they have all been given to me or have shown up of their own volition looking for a forever gnome-home (it's funny because it's true). I'm a grammar and typography nerd and love ANYTHING that makes me smarter. And lastly, I love reading, baking, and doing just about anything creative with my hands. I'll try ANYTHING at least once—sometimes twice, just to be sure.

Aaaaand... The Perseid Meteor Shower occurs every year over my birthday. I think that's more than just a coincidence. ;)
