Greetings! My name is Maxine. I am 17 years old and I live in South Africa. I am home schooled and enjoy drawing, painting, reading and playing alto recorder and tin whistle. I love fantasy tales and I am a big fan of The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and anything else by J.R.R. Tolkien.
I am also a fan of Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies. I love nature, especially forests and woodlands, and I love to go camping with my family in our caravan. :) A lot of times when I go for a walk I take a bag with me so I can pick up any trash littering the area.
My family and I have 2 dogs and I LOVE them! It never snows here, except on the mountains sometimes, but it does rain during Winter. During Christmas we have a hot summer.
Afrikaans is my first language, but English is my favorite. I have recently started learning Norwegian and Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic) as well.
I can (mostly) read and write Anglo-Saxon runes and Elvish Tengwar. If, by any chance, you can also read them, please see if you can write the postcard using runes or Elvish writing. That ought to be interesting! ᚦᛖᛋᛖ ᚪᚱᛖ ᚪᛝᚷᛚᚩ ᛋᚪᛉᚩᚾ ᚱᚢᚾᛖᛋ:

I would love to receive postcards from everywhere!
You can send me any nice postcard. Anything with flowers, trees, landscapes, animals...(especially dogs, foxes or wolves) basically anything nature-ey.
Or something from your country (like photos or pictures of your country, people, landmarks, national flag, scenery etc.) Preferably not modern buildings like skyscrapers though.

If your first language is not English, please write a simple sentence in your own language accompanied by an English translation. ( I like learning new languages you see.)
If you are Dutch or Belgian, you can write in your own language. I would be able to understand it, as it is very much the same as Afrikaans.

Please write me something about your country (I like learning!), or you could write something about yourself. You could also write your favorite quote.
