About Liisa...

I am middle-aged lady, who is young at heart and always keen to know about life and it´s phenomenon. My favorite music is rock music (mostly Finnish), but I´m curious about opera and classical music too. I live in Seinäjoki. It is a fast growing and active small city in western Finland. Go and see:

I have traveled few times in different places around the world. It is interesting to see other countries and learn about their culture. But afterwards you also understand your own country much better. I like traveling, but I`m happy to live here. Finland is a Scandinavian country and we are friends with all our neighbors. Finland is very exceptional country. We have now been independent country since 6th of December 1917 - already 100 years! Finland is a small nation with it`s own language and culture.
Get to know our national symbols:
For example our national food is rye bread. See the recipe:
We are very proud of Finnish design like Marimekko, Vallila and so on.

In Finland the most popular family tradition in Easter is when young children (especially girls) dress up as Easter witches, donning colourful old clothes and painting freckles on their faces. “The little witches then go from door to door, bringing willow twigs decorated with colourful feathers and crepe paper as blessings to drive away evil spirits, in return for treats,”
I am also happy to tell you all, that Santa Claus is living in Finland in Lapland. It is possible to meet him there in person all year round.
In Lapland it is possible for You to see the fabulous and amazing Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis. In my hometown they can be seen too, but not very often and they are not so colorful - often white or sometimes green.
Do you already know the Moomins? They are fairy tale characters from author Tove Janssons Children's fantasy books. I like Moomins, because they are very kind and sincere characters.

I like to send postcards which tell something about Finland and my interests. For example: city views, landscapes, nature, animals, culture, design, art and so on. I prefer pictures taken by Finnish photographers and drawings/paintings made by Finnish illustrators/artists. I have chosen my cards so that I like them by myself and I hope they will delight the receiver too. Look at my wall of postcards sent - there you can see my choices.

What would you like to tell me by your postcard? I`m waiting by my mailbox...
