About Leelulumpkin...

"There is no such thing as a stranger, just a friend you haven't met yet"

Hello Stranger = Future Friend!

My name is Alison, I'm 46 years old and very happily married to officially the best Husband in the world. We have been truly blessed in the gift of our very special, amazing and incredibly inspirational 12 year old son named Leo. He was born with severe learning difficulties.along with several other challenges to his health, just one of which is being partially sighted. Despite these challenges he is such a happy, loving little boy, who loves life and is always smiling. He is the light of our lives.

I am his full time carer and as he is unable to talk, read, write, eat normally etc, it's a full time job! lol! Prior to his birth I had a 20 year career in the Railway industry but very willingly gave this up to care for my dear Son and I don't miss it one little bit!

So now, postcrossing, to me, is a way of staying connected to the outside world now I work from home so to speak, It's a wonderful cultural exchange, so the back of the card is just as important as the picture on the front. I force myself to learn something new every day so can you be my teacher? Tell me about your life, make me smile (some days here can be difficult!) but most importantly I want YOU to enjoy sending and writing it. My pleasure comes from YOURS.

If you would like some ideas here is a little list...........

HISTORY (especially pictures, photos, portraits of important historical figures in your country - Royal Families, Presidents, etc)

LADY GAGA!!! (Here is a fail safe handy household tip for you.....Put "Poker Face" on youtube, crank up the volume, get out your duster & vaccuum & I PROMISE you, your household chores will be done in treble time! I defy you not to start bopping!)

CLASSICAL MUSIC (I adore Puccini)

BIRDS
BORDER COLLIE DOGS (only that breed - thank you :) )
GEMSTONES ICONIC OR HISTORICAL JEWELLERY
THE WORKS AND ART OF CARL FABERGE & LOUIS COMFORT TIFFANY
BEAUTIFUL PAINTINGS (not modern or abstract art)
OLD FILMS
SPACE!!! The Final Frontier!
STAR TREK (The Next Generation is my absolute fave!)
OLD/VINTAGE RADIO'S, WIRELESS SETS
FOUNTAIN PENS
ROSES
GNOMES & ELVES
CHRISTMAS OR SEASONAL (Easter, Halloween, national holidays etc)
RUSSIA!!! and ALL of the countries which were formerly within the Imperial Tsarist Empire.

So that's me! Apologies for rambling but I like to cram as much as I can on the cards I send and as there is so little room to tell you all about me, I thought I would tell you a little more on my profile!

Thank you in advance for whatever you so kindly choose for me, I will love it whatever..........

Your new friend here in England

Alison x
