About Yasmine...
Hello everyone 👋🏻
I'm Yasmine, and currently living in Paris with my boyfriend and our cat Sirius, and I'm looking forward to receive cards from all over the world - snail mail is not dead! 🐌
I'm a kind of Peter Pan at heart, not very eager to grow up for real, a bit nostalgic, but rather enthusiastic about life in general. I love going to the cinema, reading (and I'm a librarian !), writing, doing puzzles, playing video games (I love The Sims ahah) and board games, cooking, strolling along Parisian streets or having a walk in nature, watching series, seeing friends and discovering new things. I also blog and enjoy taking photographs in my spare time.
I'm also terribly fond of the Anglophone world, for a reason I can't really explain - any postcard related to British culture, literature, etc is therefore very welcome 🇬🇧
I'll be happy with any beautiful card you'll choose for me but here are some of my favourite themes if you're in need of inspiration...
• Art and illustrations 🎨
• Films & movie stars, especially from the Hollywood Golden Age 📽
• Retro/Vintage 💃🏻
• Seasonal/Celebration postcards (Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Birthday cards - in March - are all very welcome)
• British culture & history 🇬🇧
• Literature & books 📚
• Famous women & feminism 💪🏻
• Magic & fantastic themes + pictures of witches ✨ (I love Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, The Night Circus...)
• Animals & nature (especially bees 🐝 and cats 🐾)(& my favourite dogs are dachshunds and sighthounds)
• Food & tea (please note I'm a vegetarian)
• History & beautiful castles 🏰
• Disney (especially older illustrations) & Miyazaki/Ghibli Studio
• Black & white photography
• Cards you buy at museum shops 🖼 (I love the pre-raphaelites, and art of the 18th/19th century, I'm not too much into the modern and contemporary art, except concerning photography)
• Traditions/recipes from your country 🎏
+ I'm usually not very fond of multi-view postcards, you might keep them for people who will truly appreciate them, but if it's your only option, don't worry 😌
For even more inspiration, you can check out my favourites, which are a combination of postcards I've received and postcards I find beautiful (and haven't received).
Please do write a little more than "Happy Postcrossing" on the postcard 💌
For example tell me about the last movie/book/TV Show you loved, tell me about what you love, what you feel passionate about, tell me a secret, or your hopes and dreams - you can also tell me the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Paris/France, if you wish 🇫🇷
I also like it when cards are hand-written and mention the date/weather 🌦
Oh, and if you know how to draw, you can also draw me something - share with me, and don't just send me a blank card, to me the words are as important as the picture 📮
I'm looking forward to receive your postcard and I'm wishing you happiness, peace and love - take care ❤
