About Anneloes...

Hi Everybody!

When reading about this initiative, i immediately registered, as I LOVE receiving postcards from all over the world. It's such a nice suprise after a long day at the office to find kind words from someone who had been thinking of you several days before. In these times where everything is fast and desposable, i love the idea of spreading nice gestures all over the world!

My name is Loes, and I'm a thirty-something girl (not yet a woman :p) from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I spend the last couple of years in Barcelona, Spain, and just moved back to the country of windmills and wooden shoes. Or so you think it is. Rotterdam is not a typical dutch city, it's very advanced in their architectual designs and modernist interpretations of beauty. I don't necessarily agree with that, but I have to say that Rotterdam is a very unique city. So many cultures and social backgrounds come together in this town, and everybody has a brutal honesty in how they deal with each other. It's refreshing! And Rotterdam has the most spectacular skyline of all the cities in the Netherlands.

I work as a reporting analyst, so I deal with hard numbers all day long. As much as i like creating a beautiful and clear report, I can't get over my love for words.

For as long as I remember, i've been writing columns, articles, blogs and a whole lot more. I have a thing for funny and sarcastic quotes and sayings, and i would love hearing about some typical sayings from your regions. Or tell me a funny joke. Or a recipe from a traditional dish of your country. or anything :) Don't be shy!

The type of cards I really enjoy are those of beautiful landscapes, buildings or nature from your country (and I prefer the non-typical touristic cards). I like vintage style postcards and I love cards with words. Inspirational quotes, funny expressions, sarcastic humour etc.

But hey, any card is more than welcome! So don't worry if you don't have anything that fits the above description, just pick something you are happy to send to me!

In my favorites are only cards that I already received, as a special thank you to the senders of those cards. we all like our cards to be well received, right?

Hope to read you soon!
