About KiwaniPotonka...

Hello,

my name is Thorsten. I live in Bahlingen, a small town in the Kaiserstuhl region of Southern Germany.

I joined here because I like the idea to get a postcard from people all over the world living in countries where I´ve never been before.

I would appreciate to hear from you some interesting facts about your country, your culture or just something which makes your everyday life special.

You can make me really happy by telling me where you would go if you had a time machine. If you like you can also write about your dreams and wishes.

I am interested in history, archaeology and astronomy, so I would be glad to receive such themed cards and get some more information from you if you´re working in that fields. Music and sports play an important role in my life. Can you tell me your favourite musicians, songs, kinds of sports?

I like being outside in nature both here in my home country and in foreign countries. So first of all I like to get cards which show the beauty of your country
- rivers, lakes, mountains, waterfalls...
- interesting places or buildings (such as castles, palaces, monuments,...)
- or people from your country in typical national clothing.

I also love postcards with wild animals (especially butterflies) or plants of all kind (flowers and trees in particular). I adore little squirrels and you can make me the happiest man by sending me a new member of my squirrel family.

Please feel free to take a look at my favourites to see what I mean.

Recently I have discovered a fondness for sailboats or sailing ships, so let´s set sails for a new theme.

If possible, could you use pretty (commemorative) stamps and not the ordinary ones, please? I collect stamps so I´m always ready for a stamp exchange (just write me). You´re welcome to send your card in an envelope if you want to add some stamps from your country.

This year I would especially love to get stamps from the Europa series Endangered National Wildlife!

Pour les francophones : vous êtes les bienvenus pour m'écrire en français.
Si hablas español, ¡escríbeme en español, por favor!

I will also be pleased if you write (all or some words) in Italian, Portuguese or Dutch. I can understand quite well.

I´m looking forward to receiving your cards with interesting stories.
