This is Kenny Leung from Sunwui City, Guangdong province of China!

I’m 55 years old (in 2022). Born and raised in a small city called 新會 Sunwui (Xinhui in Mandarin Chinese) of Guangdong province of China. Maybe you have never heard my city’s name. But Sunwui is the hometown of a kind of famous Chinese medicine called “Old Orange Peel” while most of us call it 陳皮 Chenpi. And Sunwui had born and raised a famous politician of modern China whose named 梁啟超 Leung Kai Chiu! In the 1600 years long history of Sunwui, the most known incident is the sea war in the shore of Sunwui between the Mongolians and the Chinese Song Dynasty in the end of 1200s. Most of the people in Sunwui can speak their mother tongue Sunwui Cantonese, the most common used Standard Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese. The culture and languages in Sunwui are worth studying. I cannot write all of them in this box! Ever though Sunwui is not as famous as the big cities of China like Guangzhou, Shanghai or Beijing, I still love living here, even die here with proud!

I have a son named Johnny working and living in Hong Kong. My son recommended me Postcrossing to improve my English. There I am! It was sad that my son’s mother, or my wife has passed away 10 years ago. As a retired history teacher I have lived alone in Sunwui these years. Luckily I love to make friends and always have a trip to another city of China with my pals. So I never feel bored. I ever wanna make more friends from another country of the world! Please don’t be hesitate to be my card-pal with your stunning postcards and stamps of your culture!

My daily hobbies in my retired life are hiking, doing Tai Chi in the square, listening to classical music and studying the local history or languages of Sunwui ever Guangdong. Hope that my postcard would show you more about my hometown Sunwui and make you wanna to have a trip to my hometown!
