About Anja...

Hello postcrossers,

I am so glad to be part of this wonderful project, which connects people, countries and continents with a little piece of paper and some words.
Even in these difficult times it's a treasure to build up a net of kindness, courage, tolerance and peace.

I am born in Berlin and still living here. Maybe not really adventurous, but this city offers nearly everything.

I have a part time job at hospital, organizing classes for pregnant women, parents with children with special needs and keeping our "parents hotel" running. I really like my work.

I am joining some groups in my Protestant Church and I participate in the world day of prayers for many years. 2024 it's about Palestine.

I love my family, my four adult children, my three grandchildren and appreciate my friends, can not imagine to live without them.

I like the nature - to calm down, especially forests - sometimes so mysteriously , the coast - expanding horizon, but also the quiet green places in the city like parks, gardens or traditional cemeteries. In the autumn I like watching migratory birds.

I like travelling, visiting european capitals is great, but I also like hiking in the beautiful nature in Germany.

I love books and read a lot. I also love the atmosphere of libraries and book stores.
Cinema, theatre, museums are on my to do list, but also gardening behind the house.
I am still learning how to live more sustainable, reduce waste, grow and preserve vegetables and fruits... I like to hear more about your experiences.

Doing at lot of creative things with different materials, knitting, cross stich, sewing, patch work, making bobbin lace.

I am happy with every postcard, you choose for me. I trust in you finding the right one for me.
I am always thankful reading something about you, the place you are living, your job, your loved ones , your hobbies, your dreams...

Please notice, I really received my favorite postcards, it's not a wish.

After more than 3000 cards I would like to thank all Postcrossers from the bottom of my heart.

Sometimes it was criticized that I don't have a wish list.

I have to admit, that I appreciate the text side of the card the most.

I collect all the cards and prefer the 10x15 cm format.
I am not a big fan of typical tourist postcards.

I am most happy about cards with the following motifs:

Books, libraries, reading people
Handwriting, alphabets, calligraphy (if you like, you can write to me in Sütterlin), ink, fountain pens, pens
Tea, coffee, bread, cake, spices, and also recipes
Needlework, wool, fabrics, cross stitch, crochet, knitting, lace
Garden themes, flowers, trees, seeds, fruits, birds, insects
Roads and paths, that lead into the distance and tempt you to dream
Happy, colorful cards, green, yellow, red
details in everyday situations, at home, in the streets

Looking forward to every postcard in my mailbox.
Thanks in advance.
