Hi! That's me on the left, with my best friend waiting to board the Hogwarts Express, and I live in Glendale Heights, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois in the United States. I joined Postcrossing because I've always collected postcards sent to me from family and friends since I was young, but I never realized there was a way to trade postcards. I work as an academic advisor at Columbia College Chicago, advising Animation students.

I like to learn about all sorts of people and places, especially through cooking (and eating!) delicious food. I enjoy traveling, even though I can't do it often, so I go on mini adventures where I live, visiting museums and trying to enjoy gems in my neighborhood. I like to read, especially young adult literature like Harry Potter and Marvel comics. My family loves our Chicago sports teams, and we are hockey and baseball fans (Chicago Cubs).

On Postcards: I'm excited to hear about you and your part of the world. My favorite cards show a view of where you live or where you've traveled, whether it's an important sight in your city, something delicious to eat, or something you love that you want to share. I'm as excited to read about your world as I am to see what image you've chosen. If you are looking for some ideas, here are some things that make me smile that I would like seeing on postcards in no particular order, although it is more special to me when the subject is connected to you, your city/country, or a place you've visited:

-Historical sites or landmarks from where you live, or even something unique to your town or experience.
-A view of your city.
-Food, or cooking, especially if it's unique to a region.
-Sports or sports stadiums, especially baseball stadiums in the US
-Photography (black and white or color), artwork, or regional crafts.
-Architecture, street views, windows, or skylines.
-Books and/or libraries.
-Dogs, especially black labrador; we had a beloved black lab/pit bull mix who I miss dearly
-Owls
-Comics or cartoons. I like superheroes and Peanuts (Charlie Brown & Snoopy, etc.)
-Harry Potter
