Hi!! Im Kaitland, im originally from Detroit Michigan.
-My Story-
I spent the last five or six years traveling and working seasonally in turn living in two beautiful national parks in America.
In 2017 I was so down sad about life completely miserable and thats how I found postcrossing that was before i really online shopped or amazon blew up so i did not know how i would get post cards. But also in 2017 I applied to work in Yellowstone National park, i was so young and dumb and was in a pretty awful relationship. I ended up getting a call back almost instantly it felt like, i never traveled, left Michigan on my own also back then my paychecks had to be like MAYBE 300 BI weekly so nothing. I told my at the time boyfriend and invited him to join me he had 1 million excuses and prbly didint think i would do it. OH i DID.
I bought a greyhound ticket ( busline in american that is known for shady people taking it) for cross country and packed a suit case. When i did this i knew no one in Wyoming or in yellowstone starting their work seasons, no friends nothing. I boarded that bus and i sent it, i remember crying when we pulled out of Detroit i felt so many things but never regretted it. By the time the bus was almost in montana i noticed i was not surrounded by alot of shady people anymore and it turned out there was tons of yellowstone employees also going to the same place, it was awesome we all bonded.
in 2019 i met my soon to be husband in yellowstone too, we didn’t know it at the time that our lives were like moving trains and would change together but we were friends until we were more.
Now park life is over i just did my last summer work season in The Grand tetons last summer, now living in Kansas city trying to start a real life outside the safety of seasonal work and beautiful areas.
Im now a preschool teacher working with 2 year olds! I do love them tho
I have two cats Artemis and Circe I love them alot
