Kaiserstadt

Kaiserstadt Kulturkreis is a German Folklore-dancing group formed by Brazilians. We have two divisions, juvenile and adult. Separate from those is our theater group, which is not divided by age.

Kaiserstadt was a winner of many prizes through the years, and since 2008 is considered "Public Utility" by the City Hall from Petrópolis.

The group is centered in Petrópolis, a city 70km away from Rio de Janeiro, up in the mountains. Petrópolis is the only city in all three Americas to be entitled an "Imperial city". It was build by Germans from Hunsrück under the orders of Emperor Pedro II in 1845.

We see in PostCrossing a great opportunity to exchange culture.

We'll be very happy with any postcard you send us. Given the cultural nature and need to constantly update our points-of-view about different ways of thought, though, we would prefer cards depicting typical dances and dresses.
