My name is Xin, I’m a Chinese girl studying Archaeology in Italy. This year I live in the UK as an exchange student from Italy.

I’m a training archaeologist at the University of Bologna and University College London. My main research interests are in Near Eastern Archaeology and the Archaeology of the Silk Road. This year I did two months of archaeological excavations in Uzbekistan.

Besides studying, I like backpacking. I’ve been backpacking for 11 years. Since I was a little girl, I like travelling to new places by myself. I’ve been to more than 200 cities of China by myself by the time I was 18. Now my journey is still going on, I’ve been to more than 300 cities in 55 countries. I went to Syria during Christmas vacation last year and it was one of my most amazing journeys.

I like photography and playing the cello, I’m also a big train-fan. I took the train from Italy to China in 2018, along the Siberian Railway in Russia.

I like Chinese culture and Middle Eastern / Islamic culture, I’ve stayed a month in Iran over Christmas 2018 for my undergraduate research topic. If you’re also interested in Chinese or Islamic culture, I would be really glad to make friends with you!

I always send postcards to myself, my family and my friends in my every journeys. For me, all kinds of postcards are welcome, but you can take the following kinds into consideration when you pick postcards for me. But please, don’t send me ad card and multi-view card, and please do stick the stamps trimly and write the address clearly, otherwise it can be easily lost, many thanks!
