Hello postcrossers =)
My name is Joana, i am 36 years old and I live in a beautiful city, Porto.

I love reading, writing, travelling, history, archaeology, music, art, photography, animals, nature. I volunteered and worked for several years at an animal welfare organisation and I'm very passionate about animals, so the only real request I have regarding the postcards is that they don't show any type of animal abuse (horses on carriages, animals in cages or zoos, circus, etc).

I love to write, I love the intimacy of letters and postcards and it seems such a wonderful way of knowing people and cultures.

As for the postcards, I would prefer if they came written and stamped, but if you wish to send something else (a letter, something from your country, anything), it's ok if it comes in an envelope.
Tell me something about yourself, your city or your country, whatever you like, what makes you happy, your favorite book or author, a poem maybe! =)

I will be happy to receive any type of postcards, but maybe for inspiration, here are some that i would really love (you can also check my favourites). These are only types of postcards that I would really appreciate, they aren't demands and please don't feel obligated to send something that I have written, I also never want to miss the opportunity of receiving a beautiful card just because it wasn’t mentioned in my profile. I haven’t joined this community to collect postcards, i joined it to connect to people, to receive mail that I can be excited about, not just bills and publicity. Of course I like beautiful cards, but the most important thing to me is the experience. The words that another person took the time to write, the thought that went behind the card, etc.

* clocks,pocket watches,hourglasses - illustrations.
* cats, cats, cats =D, dogs, owls, squirrels, horses, all animals (illustrations, drawings, etc).
* Beatrix Potter, the little prince, alice in wonderland and other children's books
* tea, teapots, tea leaves, lighthouses, the sea, underwater, seashells
* reading, books, writing, typewriters, calligraphy, doodles, libraries
*railways, trains, trams, post offices, pillar boxes
* any from animal welfare organizations around the world =)
