I live in beautiful Miami, Florida with my husband, two dogs, four cats, and quite a few birds. My mom lives in Georgia, but we hope that she will move to Miami next year to be with us.

I work for a local non-profit organization on issues of worker justice and also teach, both at the high school and college level. I teach Critical Reading/Writing and also do some specialty classes around history. The class that I teach at a local university is "Faith in Social Justice."

I don't really have much time for vacations or holidays since I'm also working on a graduate degree but when I do have a few free moments, I enjoy taking my dogs to the dog park. Bailey, the youngest, is just nine months old and desperately needs the space to run and play. Belang is 14 years old and content just to be close to me and take walks around the neighborhood.

I enjoy reading and am convinced that cats and books go well together. My cat, Amelia, thinks the same and often tries to read with me. She's a spoiled baby who came into my life at only ten days old so she's convinced that she's special.

I definitely have eclectic interests since I've managed to make time to take courses in some ancient languages that have nothing to do with my graduate degree in anthropology. I'm one of those people who just wants to know everything about everything and voraciously absorbs knowledge. I'm very much looking forward to sharing postcards and interacting with all of you and was thrilled to discover postcrossing recently. Maybe once I get started I'll be more clever about what to mention in my profile.

Hmm. So I noticed that folks often post a wish list or the types of cards that they like and I thought about doing that just now but I don't know how to choose since I like most cards. Anything related to the above are fun or just anything that you would like to send.

I enjoy anything about archaeology, culture, traveling, you name it! My tastes are actually rather diverse so I'm sure that I'll enjoy anything that you send. I just received a very cool monkey painting postcard and loved a strange candy doll card and am a huge Doctor Who fan so you see how it is?

I'm eagerly awaiting the next Game of Thrones book, am currently reading both a James Michener book (Source) and the fourth book in the Outlander series. I think dragons are cool and I want a Tardis. I'm catching up on Star Wars movies and love Alice in Wonderland ("We're all mad here").

I'm into blues, classic rock, and roots reggae. I love living in a tropical paradise but sometimes miss the seasons changing. I enjoy thunderstorms (it's the electricity in the air) and dream of naps when other people are dreaming of vacations.

So, bottom line, I will likely enjoy absolutely anything that you send me!
