Hey there :-)

I live on Vancouver Island in the beautiful province of British Columbia, Canada, surrounded on all sides by damp rainforests, jagged mountains, and the mysterious Pacific Ocean.

I enjoy sports, but am not an athlete. A few of my favourite sports are basketball, hockey, and tennis.

In addition to sports, I also enjoy my life as an uncle, found items, jazz music, theatre, radio programs, movies, books, trains, coffee, Edgar Allan Poe, fossils, hitchhiking, jellybeans, jukeboxes, maple syrup, cats, New York City, astronomy, flea markets, Bob Dylan, craft beer, canoes, public transit, beeswax candles, Canadian hockey culture, houseplants, Miles Davis, solitude, distant train whistles, bird feeders, park benches, newspapers, thrift stores, libraries, scavenger hunts, cheesecake, geography, geology, rail yards, hoboes, Levi's, metal detecting, weather reports, back roads, Scrabble, animals, dumpster diving, written communication, March Madness, seafood, Boston Celtics, owls, city skylines, thunderstorms, fishing boats, Franz Kafka, pubs, abandoned buildings, historic buildings, cheese, and reputedly haunted places...among many other interests and vices.

I like to grind my own fresh, locally-roasted coffee beans at home and then have a hot cup of coffee in the morning while I listen to the radio, or some jazz music.

I love all types of postcards. I feel joy and excitement when I open my mailbox and find a postcard(s) waiting for me!
