About Janine...

Hello! My name is Janine du Plessis. I was a language teacher at a high school (retired in August 2014).

I am married and have two daughters. I can speak, read and understand Dutch, but has difficulty writing it. If you reside in Holland, feel free to write your card in Dutch. I will try this too (with lots of spelling mistakes). German postcrossers can use German. I can read and understand it, but find it hard to write.

I joined Postcrossing because I love to learn about places and people which I will never see in one life-time. Therefore my first preference is that you send me a card of your town depicting something that your town is known for or something about your country.

I also like:
Arty cards like gates, flowers, gardens, etc.
If you reside in the USA, I am collecting at least one card of any American State. I do have Alabama, California, Colorado, Illinois, (Atlanta)Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania & Washington.

I'm a culture vulture and any card depicting something "cultural" will be appreciated.
But feel free to send any card that warms your heart and catches your eye. I will really appreciate your effort.

BUT I really do not appreciate ads, pick up cards or freebies like those you receive at your hostel to let mom and dad know you're safe.

And a special request: please tell me more about your town or country and not just "Happy Postcrossing" or "I hope you like my card". I will do the same for you. Thanks. Looking forward to receive your card. I wil register it fresh from the mail box.

Looking forward to hear from you.
