About Emma...

Hi there. I'm Emma, 24 years old and from Ireland.

I love languages and learning about different cultures and places. I studied English literature and Japanese at university and I'm trying to learn some Dutch and Italian at the moment. I do remember some Irish (but not much despite all those years of school) and I wish I could say I knew French but I forgot almost every single word of it as soon I left secodary school (so much for those six years of classes!). Someday, I'd like to learn Icelandic.
Feel free to teach me a few words in whatever language you speak! And if you speak Dutch, Italian or Japanese, you can write the whole message in that language - I could use the reading practice xD

Photography is one of my hobbies and I love landscape photography. I'd love to see postcards of different landscapes from around the world and hear about different places that I might one day get a chance to visit.
Places that are on the top of my list to see someday are Norway, Iceland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Korea and New Zealand, but I would love to travel the whole world someday so tell me interesting things about where you're from!

Let's see, other things I'm interested in...I love:
- maps
- hills, mountains, trees and rivers
- The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit
- cute animals (I have several cats)
- crafts (I'd love to see handmade cards!)
- flowers
- colourful things - my favourite colours are purple and green
- good food (I'd love some interesting recipes)
- tea
- ancient and historical sites
- art
- pretty patterns

Really, the only kind of postcards I don't like are overtly religious ones because I'm an atheist. :)

If you're not sure what to write, you could tell me an interesting fact about your country or teach me a useful phrase in your language. If you've been to Ireland before, tell me what you enjoyed about the country (or even what you didn't like!).

Looking forward to sending some postcards and reading some interesting things,

Happy postcrossing,

Emma
