I've been collecting postcards since I was a kid, mostly vintage holiday and embossed cards, but also any others that catch my fancy.
I'm a nature photographer and mixed-media artist, and I design and make original postcards using my photos and artwork. My husband is a great gardener and naturalist, so many of my photos are of the beautiful flowers and plants that he grows. We raise and release butterflies and our garden is a habitat to attract and protect a wide variety of birds and other critters.
One of my main interests is printing on fabric and other unusual surfaces, and I spend a lot of time making postcards that I print on fabric, wood, and Lutradur (a new art material).
I also love postage stamps, and although I'm not a serious collector, I do collect triangle stamps and stamps showing subjects I'm interested in, like flowers and plants, birds, butterflies, and much more!
It was so thrilling when the USPS began permitting people to design and print our own postage, and I've created many different stamps using my artwork. Faux postage or artistamps also fascinate me, and I've had a lot of fun designing and printing several issues.
I'm glad to get any postcard you choose, but if you need some ideas (in no particular order), I really love: handmade; collage; mixed-media; nature; birds; flowers; butterflies; cats; art nouveau or art deco; vintage; embossed; 3D; fabric, selfmade mailart; artistamps; unique ...
I'm not interested in city-view, multi-view, tourist, or religious postcards, but again - I'll love any postcard you send!
