About Lia...

Goodday to all from Grave, a little old garrison town with a great history in south of the Netherlands. It's situated in the province North Brabant.

My name is Lia, I'm 65 years old and I live with my husband Ben and our dog Harry. He is a Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen. I am a mother of two daughters, Laura is 41 y.o. and she has a relationship with Ted and Marleen is 38 y.o. and she has a relationship with Stefan. I am also a grandmother of granddaughter Sam, she is 11 y.o. and a grandson Guus, he is 9 y.o. I'm totally fond of them!

I am a retired teacher of a primary school and I did this work with pleasure for many years. I now work as a volunteer in the Grave Museum. I am mainly occupied with the education program with which we get a lot of primary school children in the museum. When a class is in our museum I feel totally teacher again.

My hobby is traveling, preferably together with my husband and our dog Harry with our caravan to Italy. We've been there in Puglia, Tuscany, Lombardy, Veneto, Sicily, Liguria, Marche and Umbria. The places where we come most often are Passignano on Lake Trasimeno and Cannero Riviera on Lake Maggiore. We also love to travel far aboard a cruise ship of the Holland America Line. A friend of ours Bas van Dreumel, is captain on one of the HAL ships. At this moment he is captain of the MS Nieuw Statendam. It's wonderful to travel with Bas along the seas. The most beautiful cruise we've made with Bas and the HAL is on the MS Veendam from Valparaiso (Chile) to Boston (USA). We sailed along the west coast of South America and through the Panama Canal. Then we visited a number of islands in the Caribbean and then continued to Florida. And finally sailed along the east coast of North America to Boston.

Another big hobby of mine is crocheting. I make the best stuffed animals and make a lot of children happy with them.
