Hello, dear fellow Postcrossers!
My name is Frank, I'm 71 years old and live in Bremen, Northern Germany.
A few words about me:
Being born in the small village Jork near Hamburg, where I spent my childhood, my family and me moved to my current hometown Bremen when I was 14 years old. As you might have read above, we're still living here happily - my wife, our 21-year-old son and me.
I used to work as a package deliverer for the German postal service (nowadays known as DHL), but went into retirement in 1998 due to my shoulders being overexerted - a result from a lot of heavy parcels which were delivered by us.
Although it was a back-breaking job sometimes, I really enjoyed it! I met lots of friendly people while discovering every single corner and street of my hometown.
We like to travel around, either by doing short day trips or, when we've got some more time, visiting regions of Germany which are further afar or neighboring countries as well. We also travel to Sri Lanka often; my wife was born there and so we've still got many relatives. We try to get there once a year, but doing such exhausting long haul-trips is getting a bit more difficult now since we're not getting younger :)
As for the postcards - I'm looking forward to receive a lot of different postcards from you! Most preferably, I'd like to receive a card from your hometown or region you live in, or something which is typical for your country. But don't feel restricted by these wishes, I am really happy with all kinds of postcards! Self-made postcards are also much appreciated!
And if you don't have any idea what to write, you might just write something about yourself, the region you come from, if you are happy with the current weather or anything else. If nothing comes to your mind, you can spontaneously write about your current feelings or anything else - we really look forward to read from you!
Last but not least:
We register all received postcards straight away, so if you feel that your postcard takes a bit too long, it might have happened that it got lost somewhere on its way. This rarely happens, but unfortunately it does sometimes, so just write me a short message then and we see what we can do.
