UPDATE (6/18/14): It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Floyd on 6/11/14. He is now flying with the angels. Thanks to EVERYONE who has taken the time to send us cards, letters, stamps, mementoes, and love. Your words and cards have given us a reason to smile for the last couple of years and we send love to each and every one of you. God bless!

Hello! My name is Sarah McMahon. My oldest daughter, December, and I created this account for my husband (and her father), Floyd.
In October 2011, Floyd suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke that left him paralyzed, on the left side of his body, and in a wheelchair. Due to limited mobility, he spends most of his time at home and doesn't get out very much. It's been very hard for him, since the stroke, because he was always one who loved to be out and about, traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people. Ever since I can remember, my husband has ALWAYS LOVED to get mail. Even now, when the mailman comes, he always asks, "Anything for me?" Sadly, it's usually just junk-mail or bills these days. FUN FACT about Floyd and I: We were actually pen pals who fell in love and got married in 1978. :) We've been married for over 35 years now and have 8 children, 2 boys and 6 girls.
I created this Postcrossing account because I want to brighten the days of my 75 year old husband with colorful postcards and words from people all over the world.
Please feel free to send any type of postcard you wish. He will appreciate and cherish all of them. My husband loves anything to do with travel, nature (scenery and animals), maps, anything IRISH!!! (His homeland), cheese, art (Before the stroke, one of his hobbies was painting in oils and acrylics) He LOVES Bob Ross, Folk music, food/cooking and much, much more! My goal is to help him get a postcard from every country on the planet. :)
If you can put pretty stamps on the cards, that would also bring him a lot of joy. When our 8 children (6 girls/2 boys, ages 25-34) were young, Floyd and I always supported them in their fascination with stamp collecting and pen pals. :)
